How to tell if you've become a professional grandfather | for everyone |
You reach into your jacket pocket looking for, well anything, and must sort through half a dozen crayons (from children's menus of restaurants) to actually find it. "Not that this is a bad thing..."

ReplyDeleteWhen Maureen was cognitively aware of Christmas lights oh, so many years ago, she would point and sweetly say "pretty". I believe it was the peaceful way we raised her, the politeness, the sense of wonder. Today, Maddy possesses that same sense of wonder, but is apparently being raised to be a bit more expressive. The first time she saw the "pretty" twinkling lights of Christmas, her reaction was, and this is at the top of the lungs with incredibly well developed diaphragmatic support "OH WOW!" This is why we have grandchildren, isn't it: To show us how well we raised our own?

DeleteBecca's an "Oh Wow" girl, too. And one of Nic's first words was "pretty." This is getting weird, Gene!
