Random notes, signifying nothing | for everyone |
So close to the therapeutic S's.... sand, sun, salt water. But that's tomorrow. May have to settle for a therapeutic beverage tonight instead.
Sliced through Atlanta like the proverbial hot knife through butter, setting a personal best record of less than 30 minutes, north to south, without even trying. On cruise the whole way, never hit the gas or brake. Guess I might have slowed a few people down who needed to go around me only doing 62+ in the 55 mph zone. So sorry.
Averaged 24 mpg from St. Louis to Tampa in Carolyn's Grandma van. Pretty good. If my math is right (and it may not be -- even the SAT prep math problems are giving me fits these days) our driving costs are down by about 45% over 2008. Three tanks of gas will get us from St. Louis to the beach.
Does anyone besides me think there's a correlation between the number of highway patrol cars pulling people over and states' financial crises? Love cruise control. Just smile and wave as they take our "picture."
Looking forward to breakfast/lunch with one of my favorite "formers" tomorrow. We suggested The Frog Pond but we're okay with whatever. We'll get to the Pond at least a couple times anyway. I love seeing "my kids" all grown up and on their own.
I told you. Just random thoughts after a day of driving.
